Advocacy Day

About: The purpose of Advocacy Day is to extend the mission of LSPA by influencing the legislative houses. Often this is accomplished by having participants discuss specific legislation/bills that LSPA is advocating for or against with lawmakers. This may be done formally in a committee session or meeting with legislators in the Rotunda/Memorial Hall where we typically have tables set up advertising our organization and profession. Participation is FREE.

Guests: Depending on the day/time/topics we will be advocating for, it may be appropriate to bring guests or family members to Advocacy Day.

Location: Louisiana State Capitol, Rotunda/Memorial Hall, 900 North 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, LA

Dates: 2019 Date TBA. Set-up and Clean-up before and after.
  • This is typically planned for a spring/early summer date when educational or mental health legislation will be discussed in committee. LSPA does it's best to make sure we are present when both house and senate are in session.
